1. Introduction
WaveMax is operated by WaveMax Media Inc. ("WaveMax", "we", "us", "our"), a company incorporated in British Columbia, Canada, with its registered office at 9675 King George Blvd, Surrey, BC V3T 0T7, Canada. We operate the website wavemax.pro and the WaveMax service, which turns scripts into narrated, media-rich, editable video projects and rendered videos. WaveMax Media Inc. is the controller of the personal data we collect about users of our website and service. This policy explains what personal data we collect from you, how we use and share it, how long we keep it, and the rights and choices you have.
For privacy questions or requests, contact us at info@wavemax.pro.
2. What this policy applies to
This policy applies to your use of our website and service. Our website and your videos may link to or include content from third-party sites and sources. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties; please review their own privacy policies.
3. Personal data we collect
- Waitlist data: your email address when you join the WaveMax waitlist.
- Account data: your name, email address, and a hashed password when you create an account.
- Content you submit: video titles, scripts, prompts and instructions, media you upload, and the projects, voice-overs, captions, and videos generated from them.
- Billing data: your subscription plan, credit balance, and transaction history. Payment details such as card numbers are collected and processed by Paddle, our merchant of record; we do not store them. Paddle also processes your IP address, location estimate, billing address, and checkout activity to localize prices, calculate tax, process payment, and prevent fraud.
- Usage and technical data: log data such as requests, errors, timestamps, and approximate technical information about your browser and device, used to operate, secure, and debug the service.
- Correspondence: messages you send us, for example support requests.
4. How we collect your data
- Directly from you, when you join the waitlist, register, subscribe, submit scripts and media, or contact us.
- Automatically, through your use of the service (usage and technical logs, session cookies).
- From Paddle, which passes us the subscription and transaction information needed to manage your plan.
5. How and why we use your data
- To provide the service (performance of our contract with you): creating and managing your account, processing your scripts and media through our automated and AI systems to generate your videos, storing your projects, and rendering and delivering your videos.
- To manage billing (performance of our contract): managing your subscription, credits, and payments through Paddle.
- To operate and protect the service (legitimate interests and legal obligations): securing the platform, preventing fraud and abuse, debugging, and improving the service.
- To communicate with you (performance of our contract and legitimate interests): service announcements, waitlist access updates, renewal and billing notices, and responses to your requests.
- To comply with the law (legal obligations): keeping records we are required to keep and responding to lawful requests from authorities.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it with other organisations for their marketing.
6. Special category data
We do not knowingly or willingly collect special category data (such as data revealing racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, religious beliefs, health data, or sexual orientation). You might inadvertently include such data in a script or uploaded material; we handle all submitted content securely and use it only to provide the service. Please avoid submitting special category data where possible.
7. Marketing
We may email you about WaveMax features and updates relevant to your use of the service. You can opt out at any time using the unsubscribe link in those emails or by contacting us. We will still send you non-marketing emails about your account and billing.
8. Who we share your data with
- Paddle, our merchant of record, which processes payments and handles payment data under its own privacy policy.
- AI and technology service providers, which process your scripts and related media on our behalf to generate scene plans, voice-overs, transcript timings, and media suggestions. They may only use your data to provide these services to us.
- Cloud infrastructure and hosting providers, which host our databases and store your projects, media, and rendered videos.
- Professional advisors (such as accountants or lawyers) where needed, bound by confidentiality.
- Law enforcement and regulators, where we are legally required to disclose data.
- A buyer or successor, if WaveMax or its assets are acquired or merged, in which case your data remains protected under this policy.
Our providers are contractually required to process your data only to provide their services to us and to protect it appropriately.
9. International transfers
Our providers may store and process data in countries other than your own. Where data is transferred internationally, we rely on safeguards recognised by applicable data protection law, such as adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses, so that your data receives an equivalent level of protection.
10. Data retention
- Waitlist emails are kept until access opens or you ask us to delete them.
- Account data and your content are kept while your account exists, so your projects remain available to you.
- If you delete a video, its project data is removed from the product; residual copies in backups and logs are removed on a rolling basis.
- Technical and usage logs are kept for limited periods needed for security, debugging, and performance.
- Billing records are kept as long as required by tax and accounting law.
- You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time; we delete it except where the law requires us to keep it.
11. Cookies
We use a session cookie to keep you logged in. Billing pages also load Paddle.js and Paddle's embedded checkout, which may use cookies, local storage, and similar technologies for checkout operation, fraud prevention, payment security, and location-based price and tax estimates. These technologies are governed by Paddle's privacy policy. WaveMax does not use advertising cookies or cross-site advertising trackers. Blocking the session cookie will prevent you from staying logged in, and blocking Paddle's required checkout technologies may prevent checkout from working.
12. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you have some or all of the following rights, usually free of charge:
- Access: get a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Correction: have inaccurate data corrected.
- Erasure: have your data deleted in certain situations.
- Restriction: limit how we use your data in certain situations.
- Portability: receive the data you provided in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format.
- Objection: object to processing based on legitimate interests, and to direct marketing at any time.
- Withdraw consent: where processing is based on consent, withdraw it at any time.
We do not make decisions about you based solely on automated processing that produce legal or similarly significant effects. The AI systems we use generate video content; they do not make such decisions about you.
To exercise any of these rights, email info@wavemax.pro. We respond to verified requests within the timelines required by applicable law.
13. Security
We protect your data with industry-standard measures, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords, and access controls limiting data access to what is needed to operate the service. We do not store card details; those are handled by Paddle. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your data against unauthorized access, and we will notify you and the relevant regulator of a data breach where the law requires it.
14. Children
WaveMax is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them.
15. How to complain
If you have a concern about how we handle your data, contact us at info@wavemax.pro and we will do our best to resolve it. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the data protection authority in your country of residence.
16. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced on the website or by email before they take effect. The "Last updated" date above shows the latest revision.
